Music Theory I, Grades 6–12, Thursdays in Wintergreen Plaza

Grades 6–12

Developing literacy in music is a key part of a rounded education for musical theater performers. Without knowledge of notation it is impossible for musicians to access their repertoire with ease or to rehearse together. This introductory course will acquaint students with the fundamentals of music theory: Pitch, Staff Notation, the Piano Keyboard, Modes, Major Scales and Key Signatures. Students will need to purchase and bring to every class required course materials including a roll up desktop keyboard and headphones/ear buds. See online registration for list of required materials. (No pre-requisite or placement is required for this course.)
